International Migrants' Day: the Immigration Info Point extends to CNR Pisa Area and INFN Pisa Section. Cooperation between institutions for increasingly effective management of the paperwork of those who come to Italy to study and do research
After the Scuola Normale Superiore and the University of Pisa, the network of institutions adhering to the Desk, activated in February 2024 thanks to the agreement between the Sant'Anna School and the Questura di Pisa, is expanding

On the occasion of the International Migrants‘ Day proclamed by the United Nations, the Sant'Anna School announces that the CNR Area of Pisa and the INFN (National Institute of Nuclear Physics) Section of Pisa have signed an agreement to use the services of the ImmigrationInfo-point , activated on 21 February 2024, thanks to an agreement signed between the Sant'Anna School and the Questura of Pisa.
The Immigration Info-point offers weekly assistance, at the Sant'Anna School, for the issuance and renewal of residence permits, with the aim of making the reception of foreigners from non-EU countries, who are going to study or do research in the three academic institutions in Pisa, better and more efficient. The service already includes the Scuola Normale Superiore and the University of Pisa, through two agreements, in accordance with Article 15 of Law 241/90, and shows a collaborative approach between the different academic institutions from the outset. The Questura di Pisa dedicates one morning a week, every Wednesday, to processing the paperwork from students, researchers, and professors who need the bureaucratic and legal documentation to move legally and without barriers on EU territory. The functions of the Joint Immigration Desk are the same as those carried out at the Questura di Pisa: thanks to this operation, the time required to complete each file is significantly reduced, making the entire process faster and more efficient.
In a context of cooperation between public institutions, it appears relevant to share the services of the Immigration Desk with the CNR Pisa Area and the INFN Pisa Section, to ensure adequate support for those who come to Pisa to study and do research. This will not only foster an atmosphere of inclusion and solidarity, but also contribute to a more effective management of immigration issues, strengthening the link between institutions and local communities.
